I see all these comments on Facebook about "Challenge Cup" is buddy ball and "we didn't send the best team down there".
First off....Are you all playing on a team full of randoms every season? I play on teams where I know more people than I don't, and by season's end I'm friends with the people I didn't know. If you're out here playing with a group of randoms every year, you're doing it wrong.
Now to Challenge Cup...the coaches that win states are traditionally awarded the honor of being Challenge Cup coaches. They go through rosters and try to find the best players on each roster. Some can go and some can't, so they have to find others. So they might lean toward inviting people on their own roster, THAT WON STATE. Let that sink in, they pick their buddies.... FROM A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM.
And if no one from your team was chosen, well you might have crappy record.
Every team plays buddy ball, every one of the good teams at least. Previous Message
It’s essentially an all-star game/tourney. USSSA didn’t invent it lol
And who really cares? Challenge Cup isn’t what it use to be. One state should have 1 team per division and it should be paid for by the state, with roster control done by the directors and committee. No buddy ball BS… Send the best to play the best Previous Message
Money Nation trying the Copy Cat again.
Trying again their version of the Challenge Cup.
It failed last year.
What do they not copy.
