Dodd. You have some really good beaches in that area. Nothing I have seen around there would be suitable for moki. They tend to dry up in any numbers south of Te Horo on the west from my experience and then the snapper fishing gets better. Try contacting the Fielding surfcasting club. Elliot on here is in that club too. Their boundary is right up to Patea I believe? You could try shellfish baits around Waitotara area for moki? Not sure how productive it would be.
