Aaron is bang on. Its much more invisible than normal trace line which turns chalky white after a we while. I use 60lb in general, but drop as light as I can for gurnard, some times 20lb if I have to.

Ledger rigs are good as long as conditions are flat so you can walk right to the waters edge to cast with out getting pumped by big swell which will cat the cast even more.
