Just back from a trip up north. In Wairoa and Gisborne the only big snapper on a rod I heard about was James Benge fish from Mahia.
They are still catching red cod at Whakaki and only kahawai on the rods at Whakamahi.

Maybe Saturday night when 100 good baits hit the water at Tahaenui there will be some action.
