Was thrilled to catch my first blue cod from the shore this morning, annoyingly it was about a centimeter too small to keep, but still a happy camper.

I've been trying a new spot and was glad to find there are blue cod there. I caught it on a pulley rig, with mussel for bait. I found I had to wind when I got a bite to get them to stick, otherwise they were managing to strip the bait. I always use circle hooks so I have usually left my rods alone until I'm fairly sure there is something on, does this work for blue cod?

Just wondering what are people's tactics for catching blue cod, rigs, bait etc?
