No one catches enough around Napier to warrant getting all secretive about it. The odd shoalie has been caught near the Cape, but I don't have a quad to make that trip.

To date, the beach at Richmond Road, Haumoana etc has not fished well for big snapper. I was at Ferry Road this morning and no other rods were anywhere between the two big rivers, which is a fair indication that not much has happened there. Same scenario last Saturday morning. I caught nothing both times.

I'm off to Ocean Beach this afternoon for the high tide. Low tide is ideal for that beach, so this is a recce and maybe a chance for a photograph or two. Will let you know if I fluke something.
