I'm not sure this problem can be laid solely at the feet of tourists, Kiwis also bend the rules when it comes to calls of nature. I'm not sure anything can be done to clean up the problem only have more toilets available, and we all know it will only be a matter of days before they are vandalised and covered with graffiti.

This kind of environmental problem is no different to those who can carry full cans and bottles to the beach, reserves or the parks, but then find they are too heavy to carry out when empty. Again no amount of rules, regulations or laws will make a difference, what it needs is an example made of an offender through the courts. This may, just may make others stop and think ... but I for one wouldn't put my pension on it.
