Although I haven't fished there recently myself I was talking with a regular from Te Kuiti a few days ago who said that snapper are being caught at Willisons Bay at Marokopa. Walk out to the river mouth hang a left walk about 500metres to the next bay. There is a large rock extending out to sea, two smaller rocks visible at low tide about 200 metres out. Cast out toward the 2 smaller rocks from the beach at low.
