Red cod seem to have decided to hold off entering Hawkes Bay surfcasters space so far this year. They wont be far off though and will probably surf in on the next big southerly front that comes through.
Cod and couttas are the expected on most beaches in the next few weeks, There will still be a few big snapper wandering around but they are probably packing their bags now. Kahawai will be our mainstay of catches once again. What happened to summer?
