I've been trying to work out how the "experts" prepare lots of spare traces, and keep them untangled. Zip-lock bags are the go I believe, but surely they're just rolled up with hooks and swivels rolled up as well. Your idea seems to take that chance out of the equation. I'll certainly give it a try. I suppose those tubes people use in swimming pools would work too, they're hollow.
