What a shocker! Got to Mohaka bridge 4.30 am. !@#$% it, closed for repairs. Next stop Waihua. Looked good, 1 small ky then 2 snags/bust offs. Left there minus leaders and terminal gear. Whakaki next, dead quiet after high tide,1 keeper ky in the bin however. Afernoon at Blacks, spotted a good hole Nuhaka side of first car park. Started walking to my possie for the evening but was passed by 2 quads who laid claim to my Eldorado. &^%$*&. Fished back by the car park, beautiful evening but only small ky and one good rod bender but no hook up. Stayed the night with my sister in Nuhaka, and sparrows fart off I went to snapper rock. Good swell running so stayed well back from the edge. Tiny trev and another bust off. Next stop was the very eastern end of Blacks. Lovely spot and have caught a few snapper there in the past. Have not lost any gear there in the past but when your numbers up it's up. 2 more snags/bust offs. One costly ky for the weekend, but cant wait for next trip away. It will be awesome.
