I wouldn't give the designers of the entire Akios range to much credit as they just copied other well designed reels. I must say they do there aesthetics well .
Daiwa have had reverse cone spools for years . I agree longer shallower smaller diameter spools are defanatly an advantage.
If you want reliability the Lowrider guides are by far the best .Tapered leaders are also a reliability factor.
