Marine worms are certainly a good bait, likewise crabs that have thrown their shell in the growing process and are in the soft stage. Another bait reckon to have merit for New Zealand flounder are whole kernels of sweetcorn. I have no idea why this bait should figure on their menu but it does work.

Glad to see I am not the only person who uses UK websites to pick up hints and tips, many of which work very well in our waters.

Once I start surf casting again, hopefully in the next two weeks, there is a bait rig I will be trying, this from a UK freshwater fishing website. I am certain this really holds promise for our local beaches ... more later.
