for anyone wishing to fish ocean beach, and there is a reasonble swell. there is a bar most of the way down the beach although it does have a brake in it by the first set of pine trees, i would suggest a low tide to get over it for gurnard. on high tide its very hard to get out over it! on the low tide i guess it about 120m and high tide its 160 odd plus. lots of small kahawai there!!! and they take everything. there where quads blating up and down the beach so there's no probs there. sand is very hard and able to get in and out over high tide
