    Beauty weather, slight swell, mud brown water, where else but Clifton, 10 hardy anglers with no sence between them, sitting waiting to catch there quarry and become "Lord of the Cods". And wait we did, drunk some festering Lionred made mandatory in the rules by yours truley, talked some/alota sh!t, blew some turd shaped burley sausages out to sea in the spud gun, watched a dickhead send his kontiki out on a greater than 45 degree angle and catch 3 of our lines, but it was good just being on the beach. Oh and the winner was.................., we all were winners, there where no losers, or was that ment to read the other way round. 15 rods 4 an a half hours 1 Spineyback dogfish!. Roll on September!!!. Thanks to those who made the effort to come along, it was great to see we had an onlooker in the paddock behind us watching the whole day(wonder if the poor b@rstard is still there). Interestingly enough, i spoke to the womble who set his longline out and he mentioned he caught an Elephant fish on his Kontiki about 3 weeks ago out at Bayview on fresh Kahawai bait. It feed him for 4 days!. It would have to the way the fishing has been lately. Look forward to a future fish together, in the warmer months perhaps guys?, on a decent beach too, chasing something more worthy!
