    Couple of things i did find were the seasons in the hb did get later and later with it patchy until the autumn (so dont get to frustrated) and go when everyone else does'nt namely 25 knot on shore or first coupleof days after a good blow onshore. Especially if you are after good snapper.South of Napier go for the N/W personally apart from Mohaka from December on I avoided that wind when choosing to go north.
    Moon and tide pay their part as usual but fish arn't different its just the conditions they find best to feed in some parts clean water in the hb if they kept looking for clean water they would starve. But is that saying to much and you don't usually have to get your feet wet on most beaches.
    If you try mullet cut it long ways down the fillet after scaling it but leave the skin on and cut into thumb sized baits using sharp scissors this makes a better shaped bait rather than the more traditional cut down the fillet.
