    Well Nick

I was waiting for somebody to come up with that one.

And how about towing out a decent sized live bait.

And my favourite a real decent slab of bait, with a free spool reel on the rod with some heavy line and snag a real monster.

Tow out a crab catching device to get some good bait. Oh no not a baited bit of old net, thats illegal. I'm sorry Officer it must have snagged on my hook. Should work and get you off.

Maybe use a piece of stretchy elastic to tie your bigger ring to. Then you can put a plastic on, and jig away to your hearts content.

And if you want to get really upmarket use a down rigger release clip, so when you hook the big one. Then you have only your fishing line to deal with.

Just make sure the release clip is on your line and not the working line.

And if you are scared you may lose it. Well soft galv wire makes a pretty good release clip. The bigger the bend ( like a hook) the greater tension it takes to straighten it and release. And there are different gauges.

So what else can you tow out. Well if you like, use stronger nylon, and out goes the bait net.

Kinda unlimited as to what you can do.

Heck even a longline, but I didn't say that here.

    Cheers Trev

Make your own out of soft galvanised wire
