The fever got the best of me and I fished Pikowai in the weekend. Produced a 40cm snapper and a 54cm monster (personal best) within 15 minutes of each other, 2 hours after dark. They didnt have any visible signs of injury, or anything other than the normal crustaeans in their guts, and they fed 2 families/or 3 meals. There is a theory... and I've heard this from a longliner as well as another surfcaster, that the oil is in the outer habitats and is pushing the fish towards the beach. So get out there! Just wondering if anyone else in Western BOP is doing well, or is still cautious?
