Thanks, so far, for the replies friends. On one hand I am like Snappa, on the other I am like Chad. As for Phil well, I am adapting my rod stand to suit the conditions. Calm water the North Island way, rough water the South Island way. Not that has got anything to do with it Phil. But some of us are forward and some backwood. Guess us Mainlanders are just a bit backwood eh.

Gunna check out a lead tomorro Chad, I do believe that quite some years ago, a flounder netters father did mention to me his son was scoring quite a few lemons in his flounder net, and that was way back up the top of the estuary.

And yep I am trying to prove a Fishery, when the beach is to rough to fish.

This would be a good alternative.

My assumption is that the incoming tide is the best. Its basically one hour either side of high tide or the tidal flow is to much. Even with a 6oz breakaway. Mind you I might try with a float/Sliding Stop knot and bead set to the bottom. And just let it go for around a 100 meters or so.

Found something really neat today. Damm forgot to take a pic. Will head down there tomoro and catch it.

Just a bit of nature. Quite neat actually and there is a story with it.

    Cheers Hardy aka Trev
