Got out last night now, a few ky and a nice pinky around 40cm under that bright moon.

Waitara river mouth is thick with KY sometimes. Good catches made with Hex lures. Normaly just as the tide starts pushing in late afternoon. Today would be good, they are chasing the whitebait. I got over 30 fish one afternoon (put them all back), on light spinning gear it is heaps of fun

I had an awesome session with Dave Danneford at Waitara one arvo a few years back. We fished the northern (eastern?) side and had it to ourselves the other side was very busy. The kahawai were thick and we were catching them on trout spin gear and Toby lures. It was a lost count, who cares situation. We had a ball. I remember Daves lab ate a few, heads tails and all.

Il be done there again then, look to improve my catch rate off lures, shouldnt be hard as it currently stand at zero! haha. How quickly do ya retrieve? I was pulling it back in pretty quickly.

Vary retrieves mikG, faster rather than slower is the way to go.
