Hi Folks I'm currently in Christchurch, apparently the Waimakariri river is a little polluted so locals aren't fishing there. Does anyone know where to fish down here? What rigs & bait?
I want to go out for a flick, but my son & them travel to Kaikoura. I'd prefer to fish locally if i can.

Go to this forum,its mainly a Blenhiem, Kaikoura, Canturbury, Christchurch Forum. click on surcasting. Then 2012 Catches. Read all the other messages.
Now go catch a Rig ( Lemons) Tope( School Shark aka Grey Boy) Ele. (Elephant Fish. Moki.
Birdlings flat seems to be the best.

Tessa- pop in and see Malcolm Bell @ Complete Angler in C/Church, he will put you right and tell you were to go as well and the best time to fish down there
