Rod insurance

So anyone here know much about contents insurance (aka in case sh*t happens) covering rods and gear etc. when you look at it there is a lot of money tied up in ya gear, what happens if your quad rolls and breaks rods like tooth picks or ya drowning ya gear is it normally covered has anyone ever had any issues with that sort of thing?

I once broke an Orvis fly rod by shutting it in the tail gate of a Holden ute. This about thirty or so years ago. Then the rod was valued at $300.00, a hell of a lot back then. I had to pay the $50.00 excess but the insurance company paid the difference.

I can't recall whether it was my content's or vehicle insurance I claimed on. The insurance company couldn't locate a replacement Orvis rod so they paid out the claim by cheque.

Usually covered under contents insurance. Don't expect full new replacement value, as sporting goods are given a 2nd hand or used valuation relevant to how old the item(s) are. Then you will have an excess to pay as per normal with any insurance claim. What did you destroy?

I haven't yet!! haha, just brought a 222 and with the shimano long cast on its worth more than my tv so it just got me thinking about it that's all, the tv falls over its no real biggy but the idea of breaking losing or someone steeling it made me feel a little un settled
