Nissan Pathfinder 96

Anybody here owned a Nissan Pathfinder, 1996 vintage? My Isuzu snapped a Cam belt on the weekend so in the market for another 4wd, got my eye on a Pathfinder, 3.0L Diesel Auto.

Help appreciated.

For 10 years I had a 1996 Nissan Terrano 2.7 turbo diesel auto which I think is basically the same truck as a Pathfinder and it was an awesome motor. 300,000 kms on the clock and it never let me down once.Did not use it on the beach much admittedly as I have a quad but when I did use it I did not have any problems and it got me out of a particularly nasty gully near the Tarawera river mouth where lesser 4wds would have struggled. Sold it recently because of its high kms but I was sad to see it go.

I got a 1996 Nissan Terrano Regulus 3.2L Diesel Auto (Japan import). Had it for over 10 years now and very happy with it.

I have a 98 pathfinder. Ok a couple of years older but I have had similar experiences to the others who have posted regards there trucks. Mines done quite a few ks too.

I could be wrong but the Terranos are the Jap version etc.. and the Pathfinders were the local version. Basically the same car with a different name.

I myself have a 97 terrano / regulus, 3.2 petrol. Takes me everywhere I need to go in regards to beach fishing.

Just moved on from my 1999 Pathfinder. I loved it and it went places I would never attempt again. I blew the engine and it has been repowered and just resold. The 99 was the last model to have low range 4x4 on demand.
While I had trouble I would still reccomend them.

The snapper don't know where the car park is!
Sometimes it is better to travel than to arrive.

I have a 2001 Pathfinder (NZ new) which does still have the low ratio on demand 4x4 - same version as the circa 1999 model. It's a petrol version, so is pretty thirsty... I'd struggle to get 600km on a tank, however this is short distance running so will likely be better on a long run. Nice trucks though

Im getting about 650ks to a tank of diesel out of my 1996 Terrano. Havent just had it on the open road yet, round town and short trips to the beach only so far so not sure what it is like on ks on long trips. Bout a hundy to fill from mt

Ihave a Nissan Safari owned it for 15 years now never let me down. And pulled a few others out of troulbe.
