Where to go B.O.P

Trying to decide which of 3 places to go tomorrow seeing the weather forecast is looking good for the Plenty tossing up between Whiritoa south, Rogers Road or Otamarakau the neighbour has asked me if I can take her and her 16 year old son out for a fish tomorrow so want to make it a good day out with a feed to take home and not my ususal travel over and come home empty handed. High Tides are for around midday in all of those areas but I know the beaches below Te Puke usually do fire up on an outgoing and low tide. Just going to take what bait I have down stairs and that is frozen squid and salted mussels.

Sea still a bit bumpy over here, might flatten off tonight but forget about Bowentown weed was nasty last weekend be worse after the rough this week.

yeah the forecast said for flattened off seas in th emorning and picking up slightly in the late afternoon. Would be good to get out straight behind a stir up like we had.

Rogers has been pretty consistent so far this season. Best area has been to the north of the carpark bout 500 mtrs past the second stream. My pick for here is start fishing bout 5ish and fish into the dark. there should be some nice fat snapa round now up to 4 ta 5 kilos. The WBSC his having an casting practice and tuition afternoon from 2 till 4 if ya wanted to come meet some of the local fishermen round this way. O and stop in at the bait shop and get a bag of anchovies from the bait shop or Te Pukes big fish Snaps seem to b loving them at the moment. $4.50 a bag so ya cant go wrong at that price. I will be out the fishing some where so might see you out n about this evening.

Won't be going anywhere this weekend now neighbours decided to spend thier share of the fuel cost to get down there on booze and that synthetic dope crap last night so not very impressed with them at all especially when I was up early to load the wagon to make sure everything was organized bait was pulled out of freezer last night (lucky it was only squid)for them to come out and say that should have gassed the wagon right up myself so I could have still gone out, this had been planned all week between us but obviously the bong and bottle were far more important to them so they have blown thier chances of any future trips to the beach with us if they think they are going to get a free trip and not pay thier way with the distances involved that I have to drive. Makes me sound like a tosser but when I get an invite to go somewhere and I do not have any money to chip in I stay home out of fairness to those who have put in for a day out.

Yup totally agree Grant will probably look at going on the 21st or 22nd of this month seeing I hit the naughty 40's on the 21st and god help anyone who stuffs up my plans for that one. Can't go next weekend as I am doing a couple of milkings at the farm I regularly do relief milkings for so that is my fuel and road users covered for that trip. Having a nosey at that casting practice day today would have been good could have picked up on some casting techniques just by watching to try and improve my distances a bit more as I have been tempted to have a go at one of these casting comps just to see what I can do on the casting court with my two surfcasting rigs.

I am not in any rush soon to fish till sunrise again like I did a couple of weeks back Chris that was just too damn hard on the system would not have been there all night if the fish were biting and had got a couple earlier on. plus I need to get some more of those clip on glow sticks for the tip of my rod but the ones that our local has I will have to tape on as the clips are too big for the tips of the rods and they don't have any smaller ones I think the only exciting part to that night was having one of those glow sticks go flying off my rod into the water watching it float around and then get washed back in again that is when it got taped to the rod tip plus the seagull that tried to peck my hand off and shoot it's butt contents at me when trying to untangle the ungreatful little shit but it did end up doing two somersaults before spreading its wings to fly off after it was released.

I have a hundred of those glow sticks on the way ,you can have 1/2 of those if you want.They're the 30m type that I use ,cost about 10cents each.HT just before 1am tomorrow morning up the coast,I'll be there about 10pm want to run a live bait out with the Penn ultimate & Mitchell Riptide.Don't know if live bait gonna work with the surf rod but wanna try it.

Phill sells slide bait clips in the site shop that you attach to mainline with livebait and trace and the fish swims out on the line you have set out and they can not swim back. Let us know how you get on tonight especially with your try at livebaiting off the beach. If you let us know when you get your glow sticks I will buy a couple of packs off ya I won't be needing 25 packs with the small amount of fishing I am doing at present have had to limit myself to around once a month till things start to come right financially.

Just planing on running a livie out under a float but with the heavy reel & 50lb mono.Penn ultimate has a good solid back bone should should be up to the job.

I'll just text ya my address mate hoping to be at whiritoa on the 22nd for an evening session (tides permitting) to try and get a couple of fish to put in the smoker for the night of the 23rd seeing my mum and stepfather has something planned at thier place for my 40th.
