Sand Stump

The Tackle Tactics team have been in the workshop again. We have come up with a rod stand / beach spike accessory that you cannot be without if you fish the Wild West Coast.
After two years of testing on all sorts beaches including 90mile, from fine sand to coarse sand, sand with stones in it - the Tackle Tactics Sand Stump has pumped itself into all of them.
The Sand Stump will pump itself into the sand as long as there is some water content, we have successfully pumped into sand that vehicles have driving on and packed down quite hard.
The Sand Stump is designed to be used with the Tackle Tactics range of rod stands but the Sand Stump can also used with other brands of rod stand made from 25x25x3mm angle.
The Sand Stump is manufactured from aluminium and has been powder coated with our own specially formulated trademark yellow.

Now if you could get that to work on the stones we have on the Hawke's Bay beaches, you would be on a real winner.

Having watched my rod fall over umpteen times on sandy beaches it looks great. How much will it be Phil and also do you have any difficulties getting it out again?

These work exceptionally well,we used a earlier "development" model.
Even in big strong wash on the 90 mile they stood rock solid.
If you fish any sandy beaches this should be part of your kit. It is really a set and forget rod-stand.
With normal "V" shape of stands the waves slowly wash the sand away around the base. When using the pipe it seems that the water gets deflected away and it doesn't "dig" out your rod-stand.
Definitely get one you wont be sorry

Tried and tested by Snappy and Panser on the gruelling 90mile beach. Going to be testing it out in the Naki as soon as my package arrives. Great addition to ones fishing arsenal.. Will be on show at the Snapper 1000...

Thanks guys the response has been a overwhelming both here and on Facebook etc .
It's a great feeling when you create a product that your pears can appreciate what you were trying to achieve .
I really enjoy making equipment that improves our time fishing , having that idea and turning that idea into reality . I beleive that simplicity is the key but achieving simplicity can be more difficult than the original brain wave .
I am fortunate to have a well equipped workshop that has taken me forty plus years to accumulate . I have been terminally diagnosed as a tool junky , a blokes shed is never big enough.
So thanks again it makes the time spent worth while.

Hi guys, sorry for taking so long to come back to all on the price for the Sand Stump.
As I said in an earlier post we have been over whelmed by the response to the announcement of the Sand Stump.
The delay has been caused by a major retail chain and other retailers wanting to retail this product and our other rod stands that complete the system.
I believe it is important to note that our rod stand products are made in by us in our workshop and we use local companies for our outwork. By buying products manufactured by Tackle Tactics you are not only supporting us but you are supporting other small New Zealand businesses.
So to cut to the chase the Sand Stump is going to retail for $89.00 including GST with free freight. We are also offering any of our rod stands less 5% together with the purchase of a Sand Stump.
We have all had a rod fall over into the sand or surf and we all have suffered the effects of sand and salt where you don't want it OR even worse your expensive rod and reel disappearing into the surf altogether.
We thank you for your patience Phill and Karen.
PS: The Sand Stump and combos will be available on the Website tomorrow afternoon.(if all goes well)

Good on you Phil, best of luck with the product.Hopefully I will be able to buy one when funds allow. A good xmas gift for the man who has everything. Cheaper than a replacement reel after a dunking

Is that a hint Rex just about as subtle as a brick to the side of the head. You are correct Rex the Sand Stump is cheap insurance against rod and reel damage and potential cost and lost fishing time.

I watched the video of it, its actually a really great idea. Good on you, its outside the square thats for sure. Nice product.
