HB second run whitebait on the way

The second run of whitebait is a happening thing in Hawkes Bay. All the bait washed out by the big floods is now re entering the rivers as water levels recede. The whitebait are a bit skinnier after having already run up the rivers once but whitebaiters wont mind they only want quantity and there should be plenty of that.

The snapper don't know where the car park is!

Not sure about HB rivers rivers but Phau river full of silver wrigglers. Coffee coloured water but scooping at the mouth a breeze.

Next time the river rises i'll be berley baiting. Took 7lb scooping at phau mouth satday/sunday. GREAT GREAT fun. If I don't make weigh in sunday you know why.

Clear water close in on Marine Parade, Snapper at Te Awanga and schools of bait off the Inner harbour entrance. Its all go for the weekend.

Found some clean water out ta last night , got 4 reds but of the slimy kind ,a small lemon and carpet shark was nice night on beach

Didn't you used to catch Kahawai and empty the whitebait out of them once upon a time. Now thats crafty
