Looking forward to Pania Sheild results.

I hear that it was a fish anywhare weekend for Fielding so they may not have shown up in numbers. How many turned up and who caught what? Very interested.

The snapper don't know where the car park is!

Hi gary, I'm looking forward to some results also. Was this an impromptu field weekend? Would like to hear if there's any fish at blucks

Yep, Club Captain called it for a field weekend at the event only. AS far as I can tell there were 12 fishers from Pania for one lemonfish and five from Gisborne for two kahawai. Gisborne retain the cup.

I think there was only 11 of us that fished, James B came to registration then left for Mahunga..
Anyway, swell was there, not as bad as predicted and it flattened off towards evening, wind was in our faces for the afternoon then calm after 6pm. I believe towards Nuhaka way it was full of weed, back the other way where I was (about 700 meters from Taehanui mouth) it was clean with no weed. Plenty of undersized ky for us but no weighers. No logs or any other debris in the water like some thought there would be, just no fish either. Maybe in a couple of weeks perhaps.

Marko had a few lemons that were under... but yes, 1 lemon and 2 ky (size limit for the ky was only 35cm instead of our 45cm ) were weighed. If we had used our clubs ky size limits only 1 lemon would have been weighed.

i got to mahanga late afternoon yesterday wasn't to flash weed had really kicked up and blow had started tearing the current side ways,then stopped into whakaki on way home lol bloody big waves wash coming all the up to car park. didn't even try fishing that . ending up coming all the way back to Napier to nicer seas still on fish .. nice to go to a new beach think be well worth a trip back

Well done to the Pania fishers who went up. Sounds like it was a battle for all. Did any body go right to Nuhaka bar? Was it open or still blocked?I assume it was blocked.
