One for the new rod

The penn prevail got its first trip out today paired it up with my shimano ultegra for a good result, bite time was not that great but at least I got a feed of baked Kahawai tonight

Well done fin-nor, that also looks as if it would make an idea candidate for the smoker. Always nice to christen new gear, and the perfect sporting fish for the battle.

Very true Hangler but I could not wait we wanted fish tonight so the other half did a mighty fine job baking it in the oven and served it up with a nice salad from our vege garden along with some chips from our local takeaway. My opinion of the penn prevail is I like it the rod is way more comfortable for me to cast than my fin - nor and as for the shimano ultegra I would love to get a second one but I have other priorities I must attend to first before tackle acquisition syndrome bites again.

Caught a few fish on my Penn Prevail this weekend too. Its a nice light rod with good casting properties. Has an exciting bend when hooked up as well.

The snapper don't know where the car park is!
Sometimes it is better to travel than to arrive.

Fully agree Gary heading over to whiritoa this weekend for an evening fish all going well and hope to get into a few snapper meant to be a really good bite time from 7pm till 11pm. Going to be spooling up the 14000 spool with 15 kg braid at some stage currently got the 10000 spool on my ultegra with 9kg on it.
