And it's not like Domino's pizza is so much nicer. In fact, I don't find it particularly nice at all. Always seems bland and uninspiring to me. Like there's a debate between John Major and Norman Lamont in my mouth, and nobody's invited.
You can get a much nicer one from Pizza Darlo.
I guess with Dominos, you really are paying for the name, and what it signifies. Which is a level of professionalism that people think they might not get elsewhere: food hygienically prepared, delivered on time, and a consistent taste (even if it is consistently meh). They're the 'safe', 'family friendly' choice - at least for those families who can afford them.
But if you're worried some of the independent shops might not be up to scratch on the hygiene front, all you need to do is check their rating at http://ratings.food.gov.uk/. 4/5 stars and you're good to go.
I just can't really fathom why anyone would opt for Domino's (beyond the influence of advertising and brand recognition) when they are such a blatant rip-off.
