I'll be damned, I could turn this into an election thread.

This 18 year old anorexic girl called. She sounded posh in her voice clip, but no, this is ghetto. She's originally from Hackney so it makes sense.

So I had a list of topics to help me but she just jumped right in with the election and how shit it is. I don't like women who use profanity but that's the way of things, it seems. The young people today.

I asked her if she voted and she said "of course". Then I asked who and she said...I don't know some trade union socialist thing. I asked twice just to make sure she wasn't talking about Labour but no. It's some ultra fringe party. I asked how many votes they got but couldn't really understand her answer.

But I tell her that I studied politics and used to be interested in communism and the like. She said that there aren't communist parties in the UK (which I don't think is true) and that it just exists in China and North Korea. Kind of weird because just 30 seconds earlier she was talking about this trade union socialist party consisting of one person who she supported. Maybe it was some communist/socialist distinction.

But no, she didn't know anything about politics. Didn't know who the US president was. Didn't know who was a Democrat and who was a Republican. Didn't know what these even were. Didn't know who was right wing and who was left wing. I certainly couldn't explain that they were both right wing so I gave the official "Democrats are left wing" response.

So kind of a dumbass. Disappointing. And aggressive. I don't like that. Not ladylike. But mercifully, she cut the conversation short. She was going to call at 11.00 but I got a call at 10.00. But she says she's going to call back at 11.00.
