Speaking of things that won't happen I was inspired by a recent Ric Flair podcast. You know, since Roddy Piper died, Ric Flair now produces the worst wrestling podcast in the world.
Sting was the guest in this episode. I was disappointed that there was no mention of his long-time friend and former tagteam partner the Ultimate Warrior in the interview but then again, Flair didn't really ask anything about wrestling.
Anyway, Sting was talking about his relationship with Lex Luger and how he taught Luger how to eat. For example, he said that when eating in a restaurant it doesn't matter what's on the menu, just ask for a grilled chicken breast.
It got me to thinking. I'm finding it painful to go to the grocery store because there's nothing there that I want to eat. I've been buying the same shit for ten years: hamburgers, pizza, crisps, and cookies. I won't even buy the pizza any more because I can't choke that shit down any more.
But these wrestlers (and bodybuilders and perhaps weight lifters and this sort of thing) will just eat chicken or just eat tuna, this sort of thing. I watched an Ultimate Warrior interview where he said in his early days in the business, money was tight so he just ate canned salmon three meals a day or however many it was.
So I think I'm going to try it out. It should make the shopping easier. Just buy chicken. And I can buy a big thing of brown rice which should last quite a while. And fruits and vegetables. Can buy fresh fruit and canned corn or something. Nuts as well. Could also mix it up with some pasta.
I think that this will work. I mean, just put the chicken on the George Foreman grill and you're done. I basically do this now but with beef. Then I can eat it with the rice or the vegetables or whatever. Can even make a sandwich out of it using wholewheat bread. It's not that much extra work from what I'm doing now and it would taste better and be better nutritionally.
Then there's the snacking. Currently, I got with crisps and even this isn't appealing any more. They have such a lousy selection in this shit country. Nothing dazzles me. So I can switch to nuts which are healthier and aid in muscle-building.
If I don't eat something sugary every day I start feeling ill. So currently I make sure that I have some Snickers at hand and/or cookies. I can substitute fresh fruit for this. Or even dried fruit for emergency situations.
If all I did was change the diet, it would be worthwhile. But I might as well see if it does actually aid in getting huge. So I'd like to start lifting weights again. I have the time, after all. I'm not working anywhere near 40 hours a week.
So yeah, I think I can do this. It's arguably easier to follow this diet than my current one. Shopping is certainly easier. Maybe I'll be healthier. Feel better. Be able to make this trek to shitty flat up a steep hill without feeling like I'm going to have a heart attack. And add the working out to this, it could be great.
