One of these places offered work in Dubai for an arbitration of a few days. I ended up not doing it and haven't heard from them again. Until today.
It seems there's another arbitration in Dubai. She would be very grateful if I could "revert" to her asap.
Weird English. Presumably this is a mistranslation of the phrase "get back to me".
So I Googled her up. The only person with that name is from the Philippines.
Then I Googled the name of the person who initially sent me a Dubai job a year and a half ago. There are zero hits but it looks like a Filipino name.
It's peculiar. I think it's a legitimate company and it has offices (or at least some kind of presence) mostly in Asia, Australia, and the Middle East and Google suggests that they're based in Dubai but still. It's weird. I think it's owned by an American woman. Or maybe an American man. Some American.
I mean, that's not really weird but...I don't know. The whole business model is odd. An American-owned company, based in Dubai, with offices in the Philippines (I guess), flying British people in to do temporary work in Dubai.
I'm not going to "revert" to her, though. The same way they didn't revert to me when I expressed uncertainty that I can do the job.
