Second place seems to mostly have work in Dubai. I've been getting weird spam from them lately (before I contacted them again). It's directed to me by name but poor English and the name is Filipino. I think that the company is based in Dubai and that's where most of their work is. My understanding is that an American owns the company, though.
So yeah, they offered work. But...jobs in Dubai. What a pain in the ass. Let's say they pay £300/day plus £4.00/page for transcripts. Is it really worth it? I mean...that would be three or four times what I make now but for like 20 times the hassle.
I had the misfortune of talking to my mother a couple weeks ago. Probably the last time I talk to her. But when I mentioned this Dubai idea, she first talked about what a bad idea it is. Something about recent hijackings. I never heard about that. Terrorist stuff.
I mean, yeah, these are Muslims and Muslims are terrorists but...I don't think that she knows anything about Dubai. As far as terrorist Muslims go, Dubai is the safest country in the Middle East. That's a low bar, of course, but she didn't know anything about the place.
Then she's making a joke about it. Always negative. It's really poisonous.
So I'm saying that it's not a joke, it's relatively safe, and loads of rich people in the UK go to Dubai for vacation or to work. It's a very desirable destination.
She then says that she knows all about Dubai (in spite of the fact that she regularly badly mispronounces the name) and in fact knows somebody who goes. "That Kardashian".
I mean, it's just too stupid to even discuss. She's sitting there watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians and thinks that this is somehow relevant to the discussion.
You know what I watched recently? 1967 motorcycle gang movie The Glory Stompers. You can check it out in full on Youtube.

I'm not sure if it's edited. I think it is. Because there's a lot of "mother lovers" and "####s" that don't sound right. Is "####" censored on this forum now? I think it might be. Just in case, the word is "sluut" minus the second "u". I used to just do HTML to get censored words to show up but I can't remember the code now.
But it stars Dennis Hopper two years before he did Easy Rider. It's no Easy Rider but it's not as bad as the comments on YouTube suggest. It's about a motorcycle gang who kidnap a "young" (looks at least 30 but people looked older back then so I don't know) woman and are going to sell her into sexual slavery to a Mexican drug lord.
That's about it. That's pretty much the whole movie. The acting isn't amazing but I was okay with it. Added to the trippy feel of these turbulent times. And the motorcycle gang members were remarkably well-groomed and well-spoken but again, it didn't bother me.
One weird thing is that the Dennis Hopper character has a hot girlfriend but he really seems into this blond woman that he's going to see in Mexico. It's never explained why.
It's by no means a masterpiece but it was watchable.
I'll tell you a great motorcycle film: Electra Glide in Blue. It was made in 1973 so four years after Easy Rider and essentially it's Easy Rider in reverse. See it for yourself and you'll see what I mean. It's about motorcycle cops who harass hippies. Stars a young Robert Blake who today is a convicted murderer.
