But it's basically what my lady friend looks like minus the gigantism. Dark, braided hair, spectacles, average appearance.
It's also interesting seeing her relationship with food. She brought over about nine doughnuts. I mentioned to her recently that I'm disappointed that there aren't any Dunkin Donuts in the UK but it seems she found a place. Six of the doughnuts were from such an establishment in London.
But that was just a rouse for her true intention: she wanted to eat doughnuts. She split all of them in half and then she'd eat them for breakfast. So would I. It's a fine idea for an easy breakfast but it's not something that I would have done had she not brought them.
When the doughnuts were gone on Monday, she asked if there was a bakery nearby. There are but they were closed for the bank holiday. Presumably, she wanted more doughnuts.
She also bought me a bunch of sweets and Oreos and stuff like this. It's a window into what she likes. She likes sweet food.
And going out with her to eat, I'm happy to leave food but she finishes everything. We split an order of chips, I was done with them, but she didn't want to leave them. And she ate all of her meal. This is absolutely always the case with her. She never leaves food.
So...she's not overweight but she's not slim. And she often talks about how she's exercising or dieting or whatever. And how she doesn't want to eat too many sweets because of diabetes fears.
I'm not entirely sure how she can gain weight anyway since she's a vegetarian. It must be all the sugary food she enjoys. She's not big on salted snacks.
Anyway, it's just kind of interesting the obsession that some people have with food. What's the appeal? Sure, I enjoy a doughnut but I'm not going to go out of my way to get one. I don't miss them. I don't wish that I was eating a doughnut right now. I don't think about doughnuts. When I think it's time to eat something, I go eat something. When I feel the blood sugar dropping, I go get some sweets or biscuits or something. If I'm up for some snacking, I'll eat some Texas BBQ Sauce Pringles. That's it. Food is of little interest to me.
