He then also shone a light in my ear, said that my inner ear was 'very interesting' - apparently bendy, rather than straight, which is the norm? - and also said it was wax.
The nurse practitioner recommended I put a few drops of warm olive oil in there twice a day, to soften the wax up. Then make an appointment with my GP to have it syringed. But I wasn't keen on having another ten days of hearing impairment, so had a Google around to see if there was any home remedies for removing ear wax.
And I found this video. It seemed legit, and at least worth a try (and if didn't worked, I could always phone the GP anyway).
So I ordered an 'ear bulb' on next day delivery. It duly came, and then when I got home from work, I tried it out. And it worked. Blasted that wax right out of there. So thanks to Dylan Kowalski for that one.
In other news:
'Tom Jones! Dylan Thomas! Rhys Ifans ! Laura Ashley! Sian Lloyd! Gavin Edwards! Neil Kinnock! Nicholas Jones! Can you hear me, Nicholas Jones!? Your boys took one hell of a beating!'.
England were the better side though, weren't they? Deserved to win it.
But that's not really surprising, given the relative population sizes, and by extension the relative talent pools. Indeed, Wales arguably punch above their weight in football, while England have, on balance, underachieved.
Still, it was a little victory. And while I am by no means an English nationalist - I support the working-class hero Wayne Rooney, and the rest I could care less about - you have to take them where you can find them.
