I did find a post he wrote about the NHS, though. He had only good things to say. Kind of surprising, I guess, although only in the American "conservative" sense. It was a thread about US healthcare and many people were there talking about you should get a job so you can get health insurance and if you don't have a job, you deserve not to be treated in hospitals, et cetera. It's about as extreme as it gets without putting people directly in ovens. But this is just how warped the people have become in the US through
all the propaganda. They actually advocate against health care. Being seen by a doctor and not having to pay for it is considered a violation of some rights that they claim to have. It's absolutely crazy.
Was Matt M not mentioned on ForeverDelayed? They're closed to new registrations and I forgot all of my usernames. I had at least one, I think.
Here's another Matt M not understanding America message I found. It's in a thread talking about dental hygeine and brushing your tongue. This is something that isn't considered so strange in the US but is probably unheard of in the UK. Matt M certainly never heard of it and he's mocked roundly for this.
Anyway, there's probably a good few people who used Manic websites who have died. I can't think of any amusing examples I can share, though.
Let me check out the Tinder action. Did I mention a 22 year old "Irish" woman who matched me? That was last week but I only messaged her today. That's how little I care about this shit. She hasn't replied and is unlikely to.
I was also talking to that 24 year old Pakistani girl but again, I stopped talking to her about 10 days ago. I also had a break from talking to her for about a week a couple weeks back. Again, I don't care about this shit. She'd respond if I'd talk and perhaps even go out but I really couldn't care less about this. I gave her my number ages ago, she said she wants to talk more, so that's what we did. People who say they want to talk more NEVER go out and frankly, I'm not even interested.
Also matched with some Middle Eastern or South Asian woman today. It's that Dubai reference in my profile. Total gold diggers.
You know, I set my location to Dubai and was swiping there and got a fair few matches. It's not what I expected, though. They were almost all black or Asian. A lot of prostitutes too. I know that there's a lot of foreigners in Dubai but literally I don't think that I saw a single Middle Eastern person.
I was watching some guy play Super Mario Land today. He was awful. Probably 27 years old. I've watched him play Super Mario Maker and he's quite good but he didn't know shit about Super Mario Land and died a lot.
I haven't played that game in probably 25 years but I still knew all the secrets. This guy was missing all of them. "Hey, moron, there's a hidden block there" and so forth.
He was also lamenting the absence of Yoshi and going on about what Yoshi's first game was. Well, let's see. Super Mario Land came out in 1989. This is a year or two before Yoshi's first appearance, which was in Super Mario World, by the way.
It's madness. I could speedrun that game. I probably beat it 500 times, no joke. That's what you had to do in those days. You only had a few games and most of them were awful. So you had to play the few good games over and over again.
I thought about making a Youtube video but then I tried playing that game with my keyboard. I used to think it was fine to play console games with a keyboard but now I'm not so sure. Maybe I do need a controller to get the most out of it.
Trying to think of the Gameboy games I had. I must have had...20 or 30. It wasn't too bad a collection but now I can't think of what they were. I had Super Mario Land and Super Mario Land 2. Oh, Mario Picros. That's wasn't very good but I played it a fair bit. Tetris, of course. Final Fantasy. I played that a lot. That's all I can think of. But I know I had at least 20 games.
Oh. There was a boxing game. That was pretty crap, only like six opponents, but I played it a fair bit and beat it. I beat most of these games. Final Fantasy too. It's just through playing them so much. Maybe if I look at a list of Gameboy games it will jog my memory.
Man, there's loads.
Solar Striker? Yeah. Name looks familiar. Box art looks familar. Screenshots look familiar. Just watched a Youtube video. Yeah, music looks familiar. And gameplay. I must have had this. I think I got it towards the end of my Gameboy playing days, though.
Pinball: Revenge of the 'Gator. Had that too. Pinball game. Didn't play it all that much, actually. It was pretty bad.
Qix. Yeah. That was a budget title. A lot of these were. Solar Striker was probably $15 or something.
Oh yeah. I had Amazing Spider-Man. Played that a fair bit and beat it many times. It was pretty shit.
I think the boxing game was Heavyweight Championship Boxing. It was bad but I beat it many times.
I had Chessmaster but I'm struggling to figure out why. I didn't play chess. I knew the rules but...I was never big into it by any means.
WWF Superstars, yeah, I might have. Or maybe this was just a rental. I know I had some other WWF game that came out later. If it's the game I'm thinking of, I beat it even if it was just a rental. That's how easy it was.
Star Trek: 25th Anniversary. Yeah. That game was awful. Barely played it. You have to draw the line somewhere.
Yeah, WWF King of the Ring. I know I had that. It was really bad. Played it more than I should have.
Mortal Kombat as well. Pretty bad port but I didn't know any better. Still, barely played it. I've never liked fighting games but everybody was talking about Mortal Kombat.
Cliffhanger. How did I get that? It's based on a little-known Sylvester Stalone film that I've never seen. I've probably beat it many times in spite of its crappiness.
Simpsons: Bart vs. The Juggernauts. Had that. Bad stuff but beat it many times.
I also had a Simpsons game that took place in Kamp Krusty but I'm not finding that on the list. It was also terrible but I beat it many times. Oh, here it is. Bart Simpson's Escape from Camp Deadly.
Probably some others that I've missed. In fact, definitely some others. I can think of gameplay but not titles.
But yeah, the games sucked ass. Super Mario Land was head and shoulders above everything else and even that sucked compared to what you got on consoles of the time. I even prefer it to Super Mario Land 2, which I think was a lot easier.
