Seems to be a small town. 45,000 people. It would be cool.
And for the rental prices, it's hardly a gamble. The highest price is £575. That's what I'm paying now. You can find places easily for about £400. It's so cheap, I'm considering a two bedroom place just to find something better.
Not many flats there, though. It's the same with any small town.
But yeah, Perth would be a good central location. An hour from Glasgow, 90 minutes from Edinburgh, 90 minutes from Aberdeen, two hours from Inverness. It's ideal. A lot of retired people move there. There's also a statue of a big-titted woman right there in the town centre. I don't know what it is. It's sort of abstract but you're walking along and then there's this big titted torso coming out of the ground. I think it's in front of an art gallery or something.
So yeah, I think that would be sensible. And my lady friend said she'd like to move to a small town. I mean...most of my work is coming from Eastern Scotland as it is. If I moved closer, I suspect that I'd get more work there. And Perth is the same distance from Edinburgh as Glasgow to Edinburgh. So there should be no problem there.
These flats are all selling for about £60,000. It's madness. In two years of diligent working, I should save enough money to buy such a place outright.
Ah. Here's the statue:
You know what you hear a lot in Scotland is people non-ironically saying, "Where do you hail from?" Just like the Simpsons episode. And then, also like the Simpsons episode, they'll ask if you know such and such from some family. It's mental.
