Made the sausage and saurkraut. It's not particularly good. I was more sensible this time and only used half a can of this two pound jar of saurkraut. I also bought two pounds of kielbasa. So 1 pound of saurkraut to 1 pound of kielbasa is my recipe. And literally that's it. Fry up the sausage, add the saurkraut, and let simmer.
That's effectively the recipe that I saw online. They also add onions and an apple but I don't see the point in that. Otherwise, those are the only ingredients.
It's better than that awful chorizo saurkraut that I made before but it's still not good. I just don't like saurkraut. I'm not going to eat something just to try to be more Teutonic.
I mean, it's not just saurkraut. I also don't like sausages generally. No way will I eat a hot dog. And all those weird German sausages...it's bad. Even the desserts...strudel, for example...I'll eat it but it's hardly something I'm going to seek out. "Oh, man, I can't wait to get home and eat that bland apple strudel!" Stuff flavoured with cinnamon...who gives a shit? Nobody's craving cinnamon.
