I don't remember challenging Hutchinson to a bicycle race, though. I certainly remember finding it hilarious that he put something like, "I enjoy riding my bicycle" on his CV. And I had a lot of fun with this fact subsequently. Maybe I did challenge him to a race because I remember posting a picture of toy ducks riding a bicycle and I had the pictures scroll. I posted the picture twice, one above the other and I found a way for one of them to scroll faster and there was text that said "weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" as it scrolled by.
This had to be when I was still in the US. But I guess it's true that people in the UK put their hobbies on their CV. I certainly don't but I don't think it's uncommon to do so here. It's bizarre, though. And I managed to find work without putting my hobbies on my CV. So...you know...are people making hiring decisions based on bicycle usage? Probably not. But if you want to include it, feel free.
