I didn't know what to do. I mean, it's just editing a transcript using software that I've used for 10 years but I don't know. I had some difficulty. I've never done this specific type of thing before. I only edit my own transcripts and there's no pressure of time when I'm doing it and I have a different set up. Plus, there was lag with this thing because I was dialed into the laptop in Dubai.
Her note was really good. She had punctuation, paragraphs, almost 100% accuracy, and she only missed a couple of words when this Mohammadan was trying to speak. The other speakers were American and British so that helped.
Anyway, some Mohammadan claims to be ill so they adjourned it.
I got the text at 5.00 in the morning that we're starting soon. It didn't start until about 7.15. and it finished at 7.45. So...even waking up that early...I question if it's worth it.
Let's see what I made today. About £215, I think. Is it worth it? Is it worth getting up at 5.00 on a Sunday morning and dealing with that stress for £215? It's good to make £215 before 8.00 in the morning, I guess.
But what if this went a full day? I would make a bit more money (£270) but...I don't think it's worth it. The job would end at 1.00 pm but I'd probably be so behind on the transcript and freaking out that it wouldn't get done until...maybe...3.00 or 4.00. I don't know. Maybe longer. I'd surely be more than 2 hours behind.
So I might not do it again. And they might not ask. And I know that I definitely can't do the job she was doing. But an extra £215 for doing 30 minutes of work on a Sunday morning sitting at home in my underpants, that's good.
