Also at about this age I had a cardboard Return to Oz...house or something. It might have come with little paper dolls, for lack of a better phrase. I got it from a book. You popped out the pieces and then assembled them into this house or whatever.

I was pretty into it. I even got a rock from the side of our house and drew a face on it to make the Nome King.

I had it at the foot of my bed. Then one day it was gone. I asked my mother what happened to it, and, as usual, she had no idea. Just disappeared. I was playing with it one day and the next day it was gone. She obviously threw it out but was too big of a psycho to admit it.

Is playing with Wizard of Oz paper dolls pretty gay? I guess so. But would it have made me gay? Was there anything inherently wrong with playing with these dolls in this doll house? Was it any different from playing with the GI Joes in my GI Joe "action play set"?

I should perhaps mention that there weren't clothes. I wasn't dressing anybody up. There were cardboard figures of the characters, already clothed. They were effectively paper action figures.
