I also went to the shops to get some pain relief medication. I'm surprised I was able to walk there.
I was supposed to view a flat today but they cancelled and rescheduled for next week. They must be pretty desperate. I couldn't do the first day they suggested so they asked what day I could do and then that was fine. So...maybe I'd be able to negotiate the rent down. The flat doesn't look amazing and it's £100 more than what I'm paying here. The location is...okay. Near the secondary train station, the main train station is a bit further away but still walkable, and my main place of employment is also walkable but...about a 20 or 25 minute walk.
And I see that two flats in my building are also up for rent and they're asking £100 more than what I'm paying. Totally not worth it. This place flooded a few days ago. This might be why people are moving out. There are also mice in this place. They're all over in the walls. You hear them at night. It's awful. I've also seen two mice in here.
So yeah, I've been looking for flats for the past three months at least. I've seen three promising flats. I couldn't go to the viewing of two of these because I was working and the third is this one that I'm going for next week, and it's the least attractive option of these three. I just have to take just about anything at this point.
Oh, and I have to look for unfurnished flats so that limits my choices. I used to go for either furnished or unfurnished because I had a small amount of furniture. So for furnished flats, I could store my stuff away and for unfurnished flats I could use my furniture. But now that I have a bed, it's too much stuff to store in a furnished flat. Furnished flats are almost always awful anyway. Bunch of cheap shit.
So...I guess that's it. There's no other news? Poop. Back. Looking for flats.
Oh. I got an email asking if I could do a job in Pakistan. I declined because this company didn't pay me for a job that they cancelled. I was booked for a four day job, it got cancelled, so I got £0. It just doesn't make financial sense to accept these jobs when every other job I do pays me cancellation fees. Also, I get about the same amount of money going to the court down the street than I would do going to Pakistan. I was willing to do these jobs just for the experience and travel and whatnot but if they can't pay cancellation fees, I can't do it.
