The trader had no idea of date or even that i'd done the job only the customers word, so me being honest took the time to go though all my books until i found the job at 22.08.05. He then started demanding an invoice saying i've lost him one sale due to no evidence of a belt being changed and even had another potential buyer phone me to confirm it was changed, at this point he started asking what is my warrenty then?
I like the idea of the invoice with warrenty expired on it, i shall send that to him recorded as when he sells the car no doubt that will get lost.
Seems 2007 is not my year,
I always fit a belt kit never just a belt but on saturday last week had a friend/trader ask me to fit a belt to a ford focus, him supplying the parts so he provided just a belt to which i insisted i would like a kit he declined. You've guessed it on wednesday i get a call to say the cars not going so get it recovered and the crank pulleys spun. I've stripped it and its done 11 valves, so now my £60 job for a mate has cost me dear.
Im learning quickly that in this trade you have to look after yourself or be put out of buisiness, not that im like that as im willing to help anyone.
Sorry for the rant but gotta vent my opinion.
Thanks again for your advise
Rob
