Paul buy yourself some software and do it yourself. I still use Adobe Page Mill which is probably dated now but still does what I want/need. I believe Dream Weaver is quite a good bit of kit but having never used it can't really comment.

Follow the help that comes with the program, build a simple index page and learn how to use FTP ( File Transfer Protocol) All that means is how to transfer the page you've made to your isp provider so people can view it. Once you have mastered that then you can improve on your site content.

I still firmly believe the best web sites are the simplest to read, no bells flashing lights or the like. People want to read text and information not be dazzled by rubbish.

It's an interesting learning curve which I'm sure you will enjoy. Plus you can tweak it and change it as you feel like it without having to bother another person.

Once you've done that you can learn about meta tags search engines robots etc. And all that means is getting your site listed on the search engines like Google etc.
