I was talking to an acquaintance last night who was telling me that he took his Rover 75 to a garage to have some tyres replaced. While it was there, he was offered the opportunity to look under the car at some issue or other (tracking, I think).

As the ramp was being lowered (the tech shouted a warning, apparently), my acquaintance decided he wanted somthing from the boot of the car. This resulted in his foot becoming crushed; it can't be that bad - he's walking on it.

Asked what he intends to do, he proudly sneered that he will be suing the garage for damages. He has plenty of money, a nasty attitude and time on his hands, and fully intends to proceed.

If anyone in the Surrey area wishing to avoid this chap would like his details, I'll be happy to pass them on.
