Yes we had a 118d m sport for timing chain, it was rattling but not slipped. BMW do recommend crank replacement for some year ranges. I spoke to our local BMW dealer who said they don't normally replace the crank. We took the job on and all went well crank was fine. The car had full BMW history and had done 86k
