You are right, if a garage charges under £35 for an MOT then they will be get lots of regular visits from VOSA......and so they should.

Luckily for us £30 - £35 is the lowest in our area and we still charge £50 - £54 due to our regular customer base.

Unfortunately, the government will never mandate a minimum MOT fee for competition reasons, which is really a missed opportunity to improve the trade.
