I have been watching this for a while now. My feelings are - it wont happen. The US has the biggest aftermarket / tuning modification market in world.

GM sell brand new crate engines "to fit into your Rod" they are the pioneers of tuning and mods. The US car makers consult with the best 'rodders' for their own improvements.

On the other hand it may not stop VAG from trying.

I can run windows software on my Mac and modify software by buying extras.
