Referring to an earlier discussion on this subject....
Some years ago (the actual number is a secret !) when I started-out as a motor-racing mechanic, I was as concerned about the environment as I am now. My driver assured me that the entire World motor-racing calendar consumed less fuel in an entire year than one trans-Atlantic flight by a 747.
I read somewhere recently that 80% of statistics ae made-up on the spot !
