I agree Mike - its a "can of worms".
I'm lucky enough to have some detailed info. on a number of earlier systems re their operational strategy in case of a fault.
They are all so different in many ways. ie. EECIV have changed their strategy as their system developed so what is correct for an early system maybe incorrect for a later system. ECCS systems seem to have remained somewhat stable over the years as long as they use a voltage outputting Hotwire.
Delco has undergone some dramatic changes as they moved from ECM to PCM strategies.
